Due to the COVID restrictions, it is no longer safe for our volunteers to ring the bells and fundraise for us any more. We would like to thank all of our dedicated volunteers and we pray that 2021 we will be back to ringing the bells.
What do we do with the funds we collect? We use the funds throughout the year to provide services to vulnerable individuals and families who are living in poverty. Such acts of hope include but are not limited to, feeding families and individuals who have found themselves homeless (we average over 150,000lbs of food per year given out) ; providing diapers & formula to infants in emergency situations (average of over $30,000 per year); clothing those who don’t have any money for new clothes and yet their clothing is torn & tattered (average of over $72,000 per year) ; providing movie & pizza nights to those who may otherwise never afford to go to the movies, giving them a sense of normalcy; purchasing quality toys at Christmas time to give to children in need (we average 7,500 children per year); and, purchasing quality backpacks with school supplies so that children don’t have to be embarrassed with taking their generic school supplies to school in a plastic grocery bag (we provide 1,200 backpacks with supplies every year).
Below are different ways that you can donate to the campaign and help give the gift to hope all year ‘round – no donation is too small!

You can host your own kettle and ask friends, family, workmates & neighbours to donate to your kettle or you can donate directly to a kettle. If you don’t know anyone who has a kettle, you can donate to the kettle set up by our Community Ministries Manager, Jane Ellen Forbes. Just search for our name. This way we ensure the monies donated stay in our community.
Cheques can also be dropped off or mailed to The Salvation Army. Please ensure you write on the cheque to “The Salvation Army” and in the memo section add “Kettle Campaign”.
