Volunteering

Volunteer

Thank you for reaching out and for your interest in The Salvation Army and volunteering with us here in Calgary.

Currently because of the COVID-19 situation we are not having any information sessions and our volunteers are still waiting to be called back to partner with us for all or our regular programming.

If you would like to support our Christmas programming by volunteering with our kettle campaign and select your own shifts/locations please go to TSACalgaryKettles.com or for other inquiries regarding Kettles call 403-410-1113.

It is our hope that we will be able to begin again with our current volunteers and accepting new ones in the near future. Community support is critical to our clients and the programs we can offer to Calgarians.

Everyday, The Salvation Army has the honour of coming alongside ordinary people who are serving in extraordinary ways to help us impact lives for the better. We invite YOU to help us fulfill our Volunteer Services Purpose Statement: 'to enrich Community Services (Calgary) programs by engaging the community to positively impact the lives of others.’

We have a variety of volunteer opportunites for individuals, families, and various types of groups such as churches, schools, or businesses. Youth, ages 15 to 17 can volunteer on their own, if they provide a signed permission form from a parent or guardian. Children 14 and under can volunteer if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Regular volunteers are required to attend one of our Volunteer Information/Orientation Sessions, which are scheduled monthly. These sessions are held at various times. Other role specific training will be provided by the department in which you volunteer.
