Volunteering

Volunteer

Everyday, The Salvation Army has the honour of coming alongside ordinary people who are serving in extraordinary ways to help us impact lives for the better. We invite YOU to help us fulfill our Volunteer Services Purpose Statement: 'to enrich Community Services (Calgary) programs by engaging the community to positively impact the lives of others.’

We have a variety of volunteer opportunites for individuals, families, and various types of groups such as churches, schools, or businesses. Youth, ages 15 to 17 can volunteer on their own, if they provide a signed permission form from a parent or guardian. Children 14 and under can volunteer if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Regular volunteers (someone who volunteers on a regular basis) are required to attend one of our Volunteer Information/Orientation Sessions, which are scheduled every once a month. These sessions are held on a Saturday afternoon. Other training may be available through specific departments, depending on the total number of hours you volunteer.
