2021 Kettle Campaign for The Salvation Army

Welcome to the Kettle Campaign! We would love to have you join us at the kettles this year and support the work of The Salvation Army!

The Kettle Campaign is an internationally recognized fundraising initiative associated with The Salvation Army, starting with the first kettle set up in 1891. Money raised through the kettles at that time were used to provide a Christmas dinner for the city's less fortunate. Canada's first kettle was used in Toronto in 1903, followed by Montreal a year later.

Today, the familiar kettles and kettle workers (or 'bell ringers') are seen in more than 2000 locations nationwide, as well as throughout other countries around the world. While the campaign is global in size, the impact is local. All donations collected in Calgary during this campaign support Calgary based programs. These programs help break the cycle of poverty and homelessness.

Throughout the year we are able to provide key necessities such as food hampers, infant essential packages, backpacks and school supplies, meals, and clothing. The funds also focus on empowering our clients through ESL classes, employment services, income tax services, financial literacy, referrals and other resources. Along with all our ongoing programs, in 2022, we are broadening our scope through the development of our East Campus, located in Forest Lawn. This new center will focus on families, ensuring all ages are supported and provided for. From youth sports, to financial literacy, to skills development, we want to empower the whole family.

We would love for you to volunteer with us at the kettles! Please go to www.TSACalgaryKettles.com to sign up. Once we see your account application, we will approve it and send you the link you need to find locations and shifts to be at the kettles.
