Our men’s residential program provides safe accommodations for up to 329 homeless men. At the Centre of Hope, men share accommodations in short-term emergency housing (to a maximum of 90 days). After a short-term stay, men have the option of paying for a transitional (long-term) bed.
The Centre of Hope has several options for men to interact and relax:
- 3 meals per day
- a gymnasium to play sports
- work out equipment
- a library for quiet times
- a chapel for spiritual services
- a computer lab to help with resumé building and job/housing searches
- common areas with TVs for movie nights
Our men’s residential staff work with the men to increase their skills and confidence and help to prepare them for a future where they are ready and able to live on their own.
Men who are transient or experiencing homelessness and are over the age of 18, can personally request their admission into the Centre. They must agree to abstain from the use of any illicit substances, be willing and able to function in a social environment and be able to be independent within the Centre.

Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay. – 1 Peter 4:9
After careful consideration and deliberations, the Community Services (Calgary) Leadership Team has made the difficult decision to suspend both our Addictions Recovery Program (ARP) and our Women’s Integrated Supportive Housing program (WISH). Please be assured that every effort has been made to successfully transition individuals receiving our services to other agencies. During the suspension period, revisions will be made to improve the programs we offer in order to serve more effectively.
