Serving Women – West Campus

For over 100 years The Salvation Army has served Calgarians from its West Campus location in the SW community of Shaganappi, evolving and adapting to answer the changing needs of the community.  Presently, the programs offered at this location focus on serving women.  We operate a 24/7 Women’s Emergency Shelter with a plan to grow our housing program in the coming years to include transitional housing as well.  Our goal is to create a space for women where basic needs can be met, education opportunities given and with support and connection we can help women of all ages be strong, independent community members.

Programs Offered 

Women’s Emergency Shelter:

We offer emergency shelter housing for any woman aged 18 and
over who is experiencing homelessness.
 
Our goal is to provide consistent access to basic needs in a safe and supportive
environment so that women can work on beginning their recovery from trauma,
abuse, addition, grief, loss, and physical and mental illness.

All Women who access the shelter have access to: 


  • 3 meals per day
  • Help with essentials like clothing and hygiene items 
  • Access to laundry facilities
  • Resource Specialists for guidance and referrals
  • Access to Wi-Fi and Common Areas for health and learning activities
  • Education Opportunities
  • Chaplaincy Support
